World Ocean Day, Huizen

On June 7, World Ocean Day 2026 will be celebrated by Life Below Water foundation at the Krachtcentrale in Huizen from 12 o’clock until 5 o’clock.

This inspiring and family-friendly event highlights the beauty and importance of our oceans as well as our local waters.

Visitors can take part in a variety of engaging activities for all ages, including interactive workshops for children, inspiring talks and a special pool where visitors can experience introductory dives.

There will also be mermaids present, creating a magical and memorable atmosphere for younger visitors and families.

In addition to the activities, the event will feature several stands showcasing sustainable and plastic-free products.

The day aims to raise awareness about the vital role oceans and water ecosystems play in our lives, from the world’s oceans to the lakes and waters in our own region. By bringing people together in a fun and educational setting, Life Below Water hopes to inspire visitors to care for and protect our blue planet.

Entrance to the event is free, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to celebrate World Ocean Day and learn more about the importance of healthy oceans and waters.

Discovery dive in the pool

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to breathe underwater

Come and experience it yourself during a discovery dive

From the age of 10, you can take your very first breaths underwater in a safe and fun environment.

Contribution: €20 per session

Before the dive, we will check together if you are “fit to dive.”

The experienced instructors from Scuba Connection will guide you every step of the way in a special pool set up just for this event.

Create your own sea animal & help protect the ocean!

Sea Cleaners International is excited to host a fun and creative kids workshop led by Tanja and Danny.

During this hands-on session, children will use their imagination to create their own sea animal, while learning why it’s so important to keep our oceans clean.

What to expect:

  • A creative workshop full of crafting and fun
  • Learn about marine life and ocean pollution
  • Inspire kids to become young ocean heroes

A perfect mix of creativity, education, and action, because every small step helps protect life below water.

Bring your own clean plastic waste to use in your creation:
